EXPECTATIONS!
We should set expectations for our children and educators. What does this look like? I’m glad you asked. Expectations should be established at the beginning of the school year. (SN: If you know who your child’s teacher will be before school begins, get in touch with them before the first day of school). Trust me, educators love to know that you want to be a part of your child(ren)’s educational journey as a “PARTNER” to the educator and a “PARENT” to your child.
Expectations of Children: Go to school, listen, follow instructions, bring any concerns to your parents.
Expectations for teachers: Notify the parent with any potential challenges in a timely fashion and know that it’s okay to inform the parent of excellent behavior and academic achievement. We want to know about both so that we can support accordingly.
